About Fr. Daniel

Website photo of Fr. DanielFr. Daniel Meyer is the priest at Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in West Chester, PA. His undergraduate studies in Social Work took place at the California State University, San Bernardino (2006). Both as a student and after graduation he worked with troubled youth with behavioral problems in residential treatment facilities, in their schools, and also as a one-on-one therapist for children with autism. In 2011, he received a Master in Divinity with Honors from St. Tikhon’s Orthodoxy Theological Seminary (South Canaan, PA), after three years of study. His graduate thesis was entitled, Practicing the Remembrance of God with the Whole Man.

Fr. Daniel was raised an Evangelical Christian, and was received into Holy Orthodoxy in 2004. During his graduate studies, he interned for two summers at St. Andrew (Riverside, CA) as a Pastoral Assistant to Fr. Josiah Trenham. He was ordained to the Holy Deaconate in 2010, and then to the Priesthood in 2011 by His Grace, Bishop THOMAS (Diocese of Diocese of Charleston, Oakland, and the Mid-Atlantic).

In August of 2011, Fr. Daniel was assigned as pastor to Holy Ascension, under the omophorion of His Grace, Bishop THOMAS. Fr. Daniel is married to Presbytera Elizabeth, and together, they have four children. Holy Ascension Orthodox Christian Church is a parish of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North American and the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East.
